Obsidian Harvest

Introduction

The Obsidian Harvest is the name of the birth spike period from ~3,100-4,000 in chimera born of the bionebula Arqalroa. During this period, a number of majorly notable figures in Serkosian history would arise, including Sark, Mekhos, the Memory of Vascalatra, the unconfirmed Narkehivear, the Splinterines, and many of the earliest Starriors. The Obsidian Harvest is remembered as perhaps one of the most mysterious events in early Serkosian history, and one of the darkest times before the Second Corpse War.

Circumstances

The Obsidian Harvest is named so for its largely forgotten history, something that is exceedingly rare among otherwise nearly complete cosmic records. Of the largest gaps in Serkosian history, the Obsidian Harvest is certainly the most notable, as it involves what many assume to be foul play by an external force unknown even to the three well established Patternscatterers.

A well known fact is that the Memory of Vascalatra is in many ways at the heart of the lack of record, being the source of information decay in the surrounding time and space. However, it itself has reported to fellow Vascalatran Fragments that this was not by design, and further investigation by the Histōr's Order revealed that it had nothing to do with the unique formation signature attached to Serkos' awakening. Effectively, the Memory was not supposed to cause people to forget.

The Memory is often similarly blamed for the spike in cohort size, and perhaps with more validity as it is a Vascalatran Fragment, however if the above is to be believed, it suggests other entities are also implicated in the birth spike.

The most common figure that blame is placed on is an entity now called the Narkehivear, the Numbhive God. This entity is largely speculative in nature, but it is part of the most conclusive theory as to what actually did happen in the Obsidian Harvest, using the pieces presented by the rest of Serkosian history, such as the extremely strage cases of the Hiveneos and Lagora, Vanguard, and Slaine. This theory would become known as Narkehivear's Solution, but it is also colloquially referenced as the "Narkalroa/Darkalroa" Deduction, a play on the bionebula's name.

History

Most history on the Obsidian Harvest is framed in speculative terms, as little is known about it's true series of events. For this reason, while most of the narrative follows Narkehivear's Solution, alternative theories will be demonstrated as well.
